Well, another week's gone by and today we get a good look at the first actual comic for Nothing But Friends. In fact, we get a great look at it, because it's up. Not *all* the comics are going to be as boring as this one, let me tell you that. This is just one of those "setting the story up" strips. We call it "exposition" in the biz. Well, I don't, but normal people would.

I'm going to gush right now, and it's over a comic found in our Links section on Nicki's side. It's called Platinum Grit, and it's become my absolute favorite comic in the whole wide world. And I don't mean to build it up like it's the greatest thing in the world, but it is. It really is. It follows the story of a guy named Jeremy and his friend Nilson, or Nils for short. Jeremy inherits a castle and has to fight a psychotic relation, Dougal, that's quite handy with a sword. Later on, aliens abduct the castle and it plummets back to the Earth. A third character, Kate, joins in on the fun and tries to figure out WHY Nils hangs around with Jeremy. Some of the funniest things in this comic have to do with how timid and neurotic Jeremy is, and how shittily (it's a word now) Nils treats Jeremy. It's hard to not feel sorry for the guy, watching him squirm and sputter in the presence of Nils, who just tortures the poor guy. It's just a great comic. You'll need shockwave to read it, and I suggest you start in the archives, go to book one, and then start with chapter one.

Letterman's a rerun tonight because of the (damnable) NCAA tournament, but it's still Letterman, so I'm watching it (damn it). Have I told you that I've hosted a Late Night talk show? Because I have. I've hosted, co-hosted, announced for, edited, written for, been the head writer for, done graphics for and run tape for a Late Night talk show back in college. I'll talk more about it later. Mostly because Letterman's on, and I worship him like no human should. Then Conan's on, and he's all new, then Carson Daly, which I turn on just for the noise while I'm at the computer.

Issue 4 just went live on the Test server for City of Heroes, so I've been playing around with new costume ideas for the last few days. It's rather quite fun. I've been playing since about August and I've yet to see the same exact costume twice. Billions of options, literally, in the character generator.
